The Ribbon - Care for Caregivers
Sausage Chowder

Cook Time: 2 hrs 30 min

Easy to Chew


  • 1/2 pound sausage (your choice)
  • 1 can light red kidney beans
  • 1 can tomatoes diced or stewed
  • 1 small onion - diced
  • 1 green pepper - diced
  • 1 bay leaf
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 clove garlic - or more to taste
  • 1 medium potatoe - diced (added last 30 minutes before serving)


Cook sausage, then drain. In same pan saute onion, pepper,add salt & pepper, spices, garlic.
Add sausage, diced tomatoes, kidney beans and cook for 2 hours on low heat. Add potatoe and cook for 30 minutes more.
Serve with French bread and salad.
