Vodka Pasta Sauce

This recipe is off the charts for calories, fat, cholesterol, you can cut some fat by using low fat milk or 1/2 and 1/2 instead of cream.
It is so GOOD.

Cook Time: 1 hour

Easy to Chew

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup vodka
  • 1/8 tsp crushed red peppers
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small carton whipping cream or 1/2 & 1/2
  • 3/4 cup fresh grated Romano cheese
  • 1 large can Plum tomatoes (28 oz) cut into pieces
  • garlic (whatever you can live with)
  • 1 lb cooked pasta

Directions:

Soak the crushed red peppers in vodka about 30 minutes.
Melt butter with olive oil. When melted add garlic and brown lightly.
Add the 1 cup of vodka and crushed red peppers, cook on low for 30 minutes.
Add can of plum tomatoes and all liquid from can, and cook until you have reduced the liquid by 3/4's.(About 35 -40 minutes)
Add whipping cream, and cook on low for 10 minutes.
Remove from heat and add romano cheese.
Pour over you favorite cooked pasta.
(Hint - set can of tomatoes in sink, and cut tomatoes while in can with scissors.)
