Ingredients:

  • 1 can (28 oz) pork and beans
  • 1 lb your favorite sausage
  • 1 green pepper, medium size, diced small
  • 8 oz sharp cheddar cheese in thin slices

Directions:

Cook sausage in a large frying pan, stirring and separating into small pieces while cooking. Remove grease when cooked.
Add green pepper and simmer for 6 minutes.
Stir in beans and half of the cheese. Cook together until heated through.
Into a flat casserole baking dish, pour and spread half of the bean-sausage mixture and then, the other half of the cheese, followed by the remaining beans and sausage mixture. At an oven setting of 375, bake for 35 to 45 minutes or until 'good and bubbly' with the cheese completely melted.
Serve with a salad, and enjoy!
